August 24, 2011 - Lake Country Soccer enters it's 28th seasonal year of soccer play for youth and adults in the Ozarks. And believe it or not, we'll see another increase in team registrations for fall outdoor youth league. Two significant points of emphasis for the facility and the organization are: (1) the purchase and installation of a brand new scoreboard for the Cooper # 1 Stadium / Greenwood Field. The scoreboard will definitely enhance the game experience for all matches played on our state-of-the-art synthetic turf field. Although Lake Country Soccer initially paid for the scoreboard and installation; monies will be recouped by the fall of 2012 from direct sponsorship from new community partnerships which have recently been formed. (2) For the first time in LCS history, a "regional" league will operate at our facility. Conversations with local clubs spawned a league that will include teams from Springfield, MO., Lake of the Ozarks, MO., Tulsa, OK., and Bentonville, AR. This is a pilot project that we hope will be the beginning of something more substantive down the road.
There will be lots of soccer being played at the facility this fall. Missouri State University women's soccer and Drury University men's and women's soccer teams will be playing more games at Lake Country Soccer on the Cooper # 1 Stadium / Greenwood Field. Adding more college games to the facility gets us more exposure to a broader soccer audience and further demonstrates our value to the soccer community at large and the importance of valued partnerships with our collegiate and scholastic programs. Most notably, Missouri State University women's soccer will host the 2011 Missouri Valley Conference tournament (semi-finals & finals) November 4 & 6. All three games will be played on the Cooper # 1 Stadium / Greenwood Field. The championship game will be televised live on Fox Sports Midwest.

DO!
- Show positive support and encouragement for all participants
- Show kindness and respect in your words and actions toward coaches, players, officials and fans.
- Encourage those around you to be kind and respectful.
- Try and learn the Laws of the Game (rules of play) by visiting US Soccer referee(www.ussoccer.com) information page or the Missouri Referee Development Program (www.mrdp.org) page for simplified rules of play.
- Clean up team bench and spectator areas after each played game. Be sure to toss trash & debris (even if it's not yours) into trash receptacles. Help us keep your facility clean and litter free.
- Keep ALL dogs on leashes while on the property (except Cooper # 1 stadium/Greenwood Field - No Dogs Allowed in the stadium). Leashed pets is city ordinance.
- Support and patronize those businesses who are identified as "Community Partners" with Lake Country Soccer. Their support helps us keep this facility and organization in operation. We ask for your support in patronizing their businesses.
DON'T !!
- Yell at officials, coaches, fans or players. Doing so may result in your being removed from the sidelines.
- Comment on referees' calls. Many of our game officials are youth, (someone's son or daughter) some who recently completed the referee course. They're learning their craft, just as the kids are learning to play the game. Neither are seasoned professionals. Don't contribute to the 60% attrition rate by commenting on the referees' decisions. Doing so may result in your being removed from the sidelines.
- Verbally abuse or harass officials. Doing so WILL result in your being removed from the sidelines and possibly banned from the facility.
- Use profanity of any type for any reason. It's inappropriate, unacceptable and won't be tolerated.
- Engage in name calling, violent behavior or coach from the (parent/spectator) sidelines. Doing so WILL result in your being removed from the sidelines and possibly banned from the facility.
- Light up on the property. City parks are included in the smoking ban which went into effect June 11. Lake Country Soccer and the Cooper Sports Complex are city owned property and therefore, included in the smoking ban.
- Consume alcohol while on the property. City ordinance prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages while on park property.
JUST REMEMBER ---
Until they're paid to play, it's just a game and at Lake Country Soccer, it's a game for kids!
For the good of the game,

Kelly Ross; Executive Director
