Fall 2009 Girls Academy

Lake Country Soccer is pleased to announce, that we will be offering an Academy for high school & middle school aged girls this fall 2009.

Possible team entry in the Incredible Pizza 25th Annual Fall Classic tournament + friendly games.

No activity on:
September 6; Labor Day holiday weekend

  • A properly inflated ball
  • Shin guards
  • Dress appropriately based on weather conditions

Purpose: The purpose of the Academy is to provide high school and middle school aged girls in the Southwest Missouri + the Ozarks, training and development opportunities for the fall season. The academy focuses on individual fitness and skills.

Who can participate?
The Lake Country Soccer Academy is open to any high school and/or middle school aged female soccer athlete domiciled in Springfield, Southwest Missouri and/or the Ozarks.

Where & When? Academy sessions will be held at Lake Country Soccer. Most sessions will be conducted on Sunday afternoons between 1:30p and 3:00pm. The program may include eight to ten training sessions beginning on Sunday, August 2nd and concluding on Sunday, October 11th with the fall classic tournament the weekend of October 16-18.

How much? Each participant shall pay $60 which will include an official LCS Academy program uniform/jersey as well as registration membership with the Missouri Youth Soccer Association/Lake Country Soccer. Make checks payable to "Lake Country Soccer" and in the memo section be sure to write, "HS Girls Academy."  Additional fees will apply for participation in "friendly games" and the fall classic tournament.

Paperwork needed: Each Academy participant shall complete the Missouri Youth Soccer Association membership/registration form and the Lake Country Soccer Medical Consent and Liability release form, prior to any participation in this program. Who will be the director of coaching? Memo Latapi will be the technical director for this activity. Memo is an established member of the Springfield soccer community with an extensive experienced background as a player and instructor/trainer. Memo will be in charge of developing the curriculum. Guest coaches/trainers may be invited as well to assist in the program.

Is the "Academy" a team or a club? The Academy is a Lake Country Soccer sponsored program which is not affiliated with any other club nor is it a team. The Academy is not designed to create a team or to start another club program.

The Academy is solely designed to provide high school aged girls training and development opportunities in the fall season. Primarily, it is intended to provide a service to those girls who are not playing on a club team or for those looking for additional training and development. The program is an open enrollment program regardless of which high school and/or club team a player is registered with in the fall.

SUBMIT COMPLETED MYSA REGISTRATION FORM + COMPLETED MEDICAL RELEASE FORM + $60 PAYMENT to Kelly Ross; Executive Director with Lake Country Soccer ASAP.
